I like the approach however I will request all Iowa residents to call Congressman Kings again and again. Also get your friends and coworkers to call.
Voter calls will always impact politicians...
Lets keep the efforts on...

Some has to go to his office with yesterday's list of amendement and his comments and explin him what's wrong with his stats.
and maybe we should go to our local senator's office with point King was making and right numbers (from DOS or USCIS's published data).

I just called them and checked the dish network site I do not see anything like that :confused:
For telugu audience I am aware of 2 such providers. telugumagictv and reliableiptv. I have not tried either. I would have tried them if they had both Hindi and Telugu channels. Does anyone know of an IPTV provider who has both Hindi and Telugu channels. One more thing, the above mentioned 2 provide the STB that can also act as a media player to play all kinds of media from your external USB drive. But I already have WDTV at home.

kaisersose, is it mandatory for the beneficiary to sign the approved labor before attaching it to the I140 application ?
According to the legal assistant:
Traditional Labor:
Incase of substitution the beneficiary has to sign the approved labor. Otherwise it is not required.

I agree, with the Country limit, the situation might be much worse. And also in the point where you said that the CIR failed at the first stage. The main reason CIR failed was probably everyone thought that CIR would directly give amnesty to 12-16 million and also did not separate Illegal to Legal immigrants.. If somehow we separate them out and explain that IV is doing the lobbyingonly for Legal immigrants, we can even show to some of the office colleagues and they will find it very interesting and may be listen to our geniune concerns. Any inputs to my suggestions..................

My lawyer had the following lines on this issue:
However, on a positive note, you are eligible for a special benefit for persons born in India subject to immigrant visa retrogression issues. Since you have an approved I-140 visa petition, you will qualify for a 3-year extension of H-1B visa status, with subsequent extensions possible.
It appears that the 3 year extension may not applicable to all countries. If you are not from India, you may like to check. If you check, please post the results for other persons. Thanks.

I think ashkam is missing the main point here. You are on EAD which is based on an employment based GC application where you have to be employed all the time. You (EAD and people who are on H1) are not supposed to tell that are unemployed! Duh!
A people who are on H1 (same goes to people with EAD based on a employment based GC) and out of payroll for more than 28 days (not sure about the exact # of days, some says 42 days), you are out of status.
So think twice before you disclose that you are unemployed.

Correct me if I my understanding is wrong. We legals are not getting any action because law makers want to do a comprehensive reform instead of a piece meal legislations. If the CIR is not a possibility, is there not a good chance to push for reforms for legals on a piece meal basis ? Stuff like visa recapture, removing country cap, filing for 485 when dates are not current and all ?

Not only mine. There are many in the same scenario. Its the feeling of being close to the finishline but stll can't cross it. Sudden Influx of anything let it be USCIS is not good.
So close....yet not there... True, it is frustrating to not cross the finish line, at least you can see the finish line unlike many in EB3 I - who don't even know the # of laps they have to run!!

With bad economy, Green Card issues, visa retrogression, layoffs, bad stocks, housing crisis and with growing inflation - all we do is hope and strive towards betterment.
Diwali is a celebration of the victory of good over evil and I wish this Diwali will bring victory to the well deserved.

Is it possible that they reject my application because my both PDs are not current ?
( EB3, 10-Nov-2004 as PD Which is not current and EB2, 10-Aug-2007 as PD which is not current either as per Aug and Sept months visa dates ) ?
My Lawyer cited following in cover letter to prove that I am eligible for AOS.
"The purpose of this correspondence is to inform you of the difficulties our office is facing when submitting an I-485 application on behalf of our client Mr.X. Mr.X is the beneficiary of two (2) approved I-140 petitions. Our cover letters to the USCIS have clearly evidenced Mr.X's eligibility to apply for Adjustment of Status pursuant of 8 C.F.R. Section 204.5(e) which states in relevant part:
A petition approved on behalf of an alien under sections 203(b)(1), (2), or (3) of the act accords the alien the priority date of approved petition for any subsequently filed petition for any classification under sections 203(b)(1), (2), or (3) of the act for which the alien may qualify. In the event that the alien is the beneficiary of multiple petitions under sections 203(b)(1), (2), or (3) of the act, the alien shall be entitled to the earliest priority date.

Usually lawyers refrain from setting these king of dates....I am talking abt resonablely fair ones.

I -94 I got is till July- 99
The officer mentioned since my PP expires he is issuing I-94 only till PP expiry date. This was in LAX. I did not argue, I think I should have said something after reading all these posts.
